Baisakhi is the first day of solar month. Bathing the Ganges on this day is considered very fruitful. On Baisakhi, the Sun enters Aries. Hence it is also called Aries Sankranti. This festival will be celebrated on 14 April this year. This festival is special for Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists. Baisakhi festival is mainly celebrated in Punjab and Haryana. It also originated in the Punjab province of India. This is seen by linking the festival with the harvesting of rabi crops.

बैसाखी सौर मास का प्रथम दिन होता है। इस दिन गंगा स्नान करना बहुत ही फलदायी माना जाता है। बैसाखी के दिन सूर्य मेष राशि में प्रवेश करता है। इसलिए इसे मेष संक्रांति भी कहते हैं। ये त्योहार इस साल 14 अप्रैल को मनाया जाएगा। हिंदुओं, सिखों और बौद्ध धर्म के लोगों के लिए ये त्योहार खास होता है। मुख्य तौर पर पंजाब और हरियाणा में बैसाखी पर्व मनाया जाता है। इसकी शुरुआत भी भारत के पंजाब प्रांत से हुई थी। इसे पर्व को रबी फसलों की कटाई से जोड़कर देखा जाता है।
