Profound loss of pleasure related to early-onset dementia
  • 3 years ago
People with early-onset dementia are often mistaken for having depression and a new Australian study has discovered the cause. Researchers found that the loss of joy was related to the deterioration of the so-called pleasure system of the brain. Professor Muireann Irish, who is the study's lead author from the University of Sydney's Brain and Mind Centre, has spend seven years on the project.
