To protect the roofs from heating, protection from solar radiation is necessary. According to scientists, dark colors absorb much of the radiation. Roofs made of cement also have a darker color. If the roofs turn white, the solar radiation gets reflected and goes back into space. It also does not make any difference in the temperature of the atmosphere.

छतों को गर्म होने से बचाने के लिए सोलर रेडिएशन से बचाव जरूरी है। वैज्ञानिकों के अनुसार डार्क रंग रेडिएशन के अधिक भाग को अवशोषित कर लेते हैं। सीमेंट से बने छतों का रंग भी गहरा होता है। यदि छतों को सफेद कर दिया जाए तो सोलर विकिरण परावर्तित होकर वापस स्पेस में चले जाते हैं। इससे वायुमंडल के तापमान पर भी फर्क नहीं होता है।
