Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star Devdutt Padikkal has named former India opener Gautam Gambhir as his cricketing role model. One of the rising stars in Indian cricket at present, Padikkal had a memorable debut IPL campaign for RCB last year as he announced his arrival in style in the cash-rich league. Padikkal was one of the finds of IPL 2020 and earned plaudits with his batting exploits. Padikkal revealed he still watches Gambhir's old batting videos and tries to learn from him. The RCB batsman said he admires each player, who has represented the country at the highest level but considers Gambhir as his role model. Gambhir, who played 58 Tests, 147 ODIs, and 37 T20Is in his international career.


आरसीबी के अगर सबसे बड़े आलोचक कोई होंगे तो वो गौतम गंभीर हैं. न सिर्फ आरसीबी के आलोचक, बल्कि विराट कोहली को भी शामिल कर लिया जाए. गौतम गंभीर हमेशा से कोहली की आईपीएल में खराब कप्तानी के आलोचक रहे हैं. गंभीर कई बार पब्ल्किली कह भी चुके हैं कि कोहली को कप्तानी से हटा देना चाहिए. कोई भी फ्रेंचाइजी किसी खिलाड़ी को आज तक इतना छूट नहीं दिया. जितना कि कोहली को बतौर कप्तान दिया गया है. कोहली बल्लेबाज अच्छे हैं पर कप्तान नहीं. ये गौतम गंभीर का कहना है. पर आपको जानकर हैरानी होगी कि आरसीबी के ही एक बल्लेबाज हैं. जो कोहली नहीं बल्कि गंभीर को अपना आइडल मानते हैं. और गंभीर की तरह बनना चाहते हैं. नाम है देवदत्त पड्डीकल. टाइम्‍स ऑफ इंडिया की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, कर्नाटक के 21 साल के युवा बल्‍लेबाज देवदत्‍त पडिक्‍कल ने कहा, मेरे लिए कोई एक इंसान ऐसा नहीं है, जिसने मुझे प्रेरित किया हो. हर किसी की कहानी अलग होती है और हर किसी का अपना अलग महत्‍व होता है. भारत के लिए खेलने वाले हर क्रिकेटर से मैं प्रेरणा लेता हूं क्‍योंकि इस मुकाम तक पहुंचना बिल्‍कुल भी आसान नहीं होता.
