India has so far administered more than 7.3 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine. Out of these, six crores were the first doses of vaccine administered. The country started Phase 3 of its nationwide Covid-19 vaccination drive on April 1. Under this, all above 45 years are eligible to receive the jab.

According to researchers at the Indian Institute of Science (IISC), if the current trend of Covid-19 continues, India's tally of positive cases is likely to cross 1.4 crore by May end and the active caseload will then be around 3.2 lakh.
