Troubled Waters

Chinese Maritime Militia vessels, 60 to 100 meters in length, are seen at the Julian Felipe Reef, which is part of the West Philippine Sea, on March 27, 2021. The large boomerang-shaped shallow coral reef at the northeast of Pagkakaisa Banks and Reefs (Union Reefs) is located approximately 175 nautical miles west of Bataraza, Palawan, according to a report by the government-run Philippine News Agency.
