There were attempts to bribe Umno leaders to secure their support, said party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who added that he rejected all such offers.

This Umno assembly has brought into focus the party's position as it attempts to break with Bersatu.

Earlier this month, Zahid had already voiced out his claim that efforts have been made to take control of Umno after attempts to destroy the largest Malay-based party failed.
