Ever since Hardik Pandya returned to competitive cricket, post his back surgery, he hasn't bowled much. While he didn't bowl at all for the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2020, he also refrained from bowling in the Australia tour's limited-overs leg, apart from bowling four overs in the second and penultimate ODI. At the post-match presentation, Kohli stated on Hardik, "We need to manage his (Hardik) body. Need to understand where we need this skill set. Did utilise him in the T20Is but in the ODIs, it's about managing his workload. We have Test cricket in England coming up too. So it's important for us to have him fit." However, Virender Sehwag slammed and even questioned Kohli & Co. for their decision to not use Hardik as a bowling option.


विराट कोहली काफी आगे की सोचते हैं. जी हाँ, विजनरी कप्तान हैं. अब इस बात को व्यंग्यात्मक दृष्टिकोण की तरफ से भी देख सकते हैं और हकीकत के नजरिये से भी. पर सच्चाई तो यही है कि कोहली आगे की सोचते हैं और इसी वजह से हार्दिक पांड्या को गेंदबाजी नहीं दे रहे हैं करने. हार्दिक पांड्या से सीधे टी20 विश्वकप में गेंदबाजी कराएंगे. ताकि पांड्या अपनी गेंदबाजी से भारत को विश्वकप हाथ में थमा देंगे. इसी वजह से खुद को बचाकर रखना चाहते हैं. लग तो कुछ ऐसा ही रहा है. दरअसल, पांड्या को छठे गेंदबाज और ऑलराउंडर के तौर पर टीम में शामिल किया जाता है. ताकि वो बल्लेबाजी के साथ कुछ ओवर्स की गेंदबाजी भी कर दें. पर पंडया को कोहली बचाकर रखना चाहते हैं. पांड्या को चोट लगी थी और गेंदबाजी कर नहीं सकते हैं. इसका मतलब ये हुआ कि पांड्या पूरी तरह से फिट नहीं हैं. मतलब अनफिट खिलाड़ी को कोहली खिला रहे हैं.
