Rishabh Pant finally got a chance in an ODI on Friday in the ongoing second game against England and he made the most of the opportunity. India were in a precarious position after losing a well-set Virat Kohli when Pant joined KL Rahul in the middle. The scoreboard was reading 158 for 3 after 32 overs at that stage. By the time Pant departed in the 47th over, India had raced away to 308 for 5 with the wicketkeeper-batsman playing an integral role in changing the team’s fortunes. He played a whirlwind knock of 77 runs off just 40 balls. Pant raced away to his fifty off just 28 balls as he laid the foundation for India’s big total.
