This 28-year-old transgender woman is all set to contest Kerala Assembly polls

Ahead of the Kerala Assembly polls, a 28-year-old is all set to create history by becoming the first transgender person to contest the elections in the state. Anannyah Kumari Alex is contesting polls from Vengara constituency in the Kerala polls. Alex has chosen to contest against Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) heavyweight PK Kunhalikutty in Vengara. While speaking to ANI, Anannyah said, "I am the first-ever transgender candidate for assembly polls here. I want to prove transgender persons can be leaders too. My priorities are the safety of women and transgender people."
