Resident of Phalee Village in Manipur’s Ukhrul district celebrated ‘Luita Phanit’- a seed sowing festival. The festival which began on March 15 concluded on March 20 with great fervor. Khashim Vashum MLA 45 Chingai A/C graced the occasion as chief guest and Themthing Ngashangva, IPS, DIG as a guest of honor. The main highlights of the program were cultural folk dance, folksong competitions, wrestling, and tugs of war. The seed sowing festival is one of the most important festivals of the Tangkhul Nagas.
