Urban sun: delaying the inevitable

A couple weeks ago, the World Economic Forum posted a dystopian video about a so-called urban sun in the Netherlands that allegedly reduces coronavirus. This fake sun is supposed to rid public spaces of the coronavirus. In reality, it’s a futile attempt to undermine God.

According to Joel 2:31 and Matthew 24:29, when Jesus returns, “The sun will be turned into darkness.” During the Day of the Lord, the sun is darkened again as a result of God’s judgment. Revelation 8:12 describes it this way: “The fourth angel sounded, and a third of the sun, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars were struck, so that a third of them would be darkened and the day would not shine for a third of it, and the night in the same way.” Looking at this urban sun experiment from a spiritual perspective, it’s clearly Satan’s way of trying to stop God’s judgment. Obviously, it doesn’t work.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 describes what people will be like in the end times. The first characteristic is that “people will be lovers of self.” Indeed, Jesus warned that people would betray one another, hate each other and that the love of many will grow cold. Satan, the “god” of this world, blinds the minds of those who refuse to believe. Like he did with Adam and Eve, he deludes people into thinking they can be God. This is the spirit of antichrist. People are willing to do anything to maintain the illusion that they’re god. When the Antichrist is revealed, he will publicly claim to be God and many will accept this lie.

Revelation 9:20-21 says that toward the end of the Day of the Lord, people refuse to repent. They refuse to acknowledge the truth we’re not God. For those who do repent and receive Jesus, however, there’s no need to worry. In fact, in the Kingdom, there won’t even be a sun. Revelation 22:5 explains, “there will no longer be any night; and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illuminate them; and they will reign forever and ever.”
