Anti-lockdown protesters confront police at The Hague rally
  • 3 years ago
Scuffles broke out between protesters and police at an anti-lockdown demonstration in The Hague, one day before polling stations open for the general election.
The police shot at least one warning shot during the rally, according to reports. Clashes began when people refused to end the unauthorised protest and police took one of the protesters' banners.
The Netherlands has registered 1,166,923 COVID-19, with 16,176 related deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University. Protesters oppose restrictions introduced to curb community spread of the disease.
