Domantas Sabonis was interviewed after the All-Star Game and asked how he felt after winning the NBA Skills Challenge. Sabonis said it was a lot of fun and when asked if he would defend his crown in the future stated simply "why not?" Sabonis took down Julius Randle, Luka Doncic, and Nikola Vucevic on his way to taking the Skills Challenge crown. In 2020 he was defeated by Heat big man Bam Adebayo in the finals of the event, so this was his redemption. Sabonis also participated in the All-Star game later in the evening, but ended up only playing 17 minutes. He scored 2 points on 1/2 shooting from the field.
