केंद्र सरकार ने वाहनों की आगे की दोनों सीटों के लिए एयरबैग को अनिवार्य कर दिया है, सड़क परिवहन एवं राजमार्ग मंत्रालय ने बताया कि एयरबैग को जरूरी करने के लिए सरकारी नोटिफिकेशन जारी कर दिया गया है। मंत्रालय ने कहा है कि वाहनों में आगे ड्राइवर की सीट के साथ बैठने वाले यात्री के लिए एयरबैग को अनिवार्य करने के संबंध में अधिसूचना जारी कर दी गई है। यह एक महत्वपूर्ण सुरक्षा उपाय है। बता दें कि उच्चतम न्यायालय की सड़क सुरक्षा पर समिति ने इसके बारे में सुझाव दिया था।
