Maharashtra reports upsurge of coronavirus cases, lockdown announced in various districts

Maharashtra has been witnessing a spurt in COVID-19 cases for the last few days, forcing the state government to impose lockdown in various parts of the state, including Pune, Amravati, Nagpur, Buldhana, and Hingoli.

The state reported 8,293 new coronavirus cases, 3,753 recoveries, and 62 deaths in the last 24 hours, the State Health Department informed yesterday. As many as 52,154 people have succumbed to the COVID-19 infection in the state so far. As many as 20,24,704 people have recovered from the disease.
