National spokesperson of the Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) Rakesh Tikait has raised the spectre of "kisan hartal" in the coming days. Tikait, who returned to the Ghazipur protest site after attending a panchayat in Baghpat, said the farmers might take the extreme step if their demands were not met.

भारतीय किसान यूनियन नेता राकेश टिकैत ने केंद्र सरकार को चेतावनी दी है कि नए कृषि कानूनों से पहले ही उद्योगपतियों ने गोदाम बनाने शुरु कर दिए थे, और अब वो दिन दूर नहीं जब जनता इन गोदामों पर धावा बोलेगी. पश्चिमी उत्तर प्रदेश के बागपत में एक प्रेस कांफ्रेंस में राकेश टिकैत ने कहा कि पहले व्यापारियों के गोदाम बने फिर उसके बाद कानून लाए गए. इसका मतलब है कि ये तीनों कृषि कानून व्यापारियों की सांठ गांठ से बने हैं. वो दिन दूर नहीं है जब जनता इन गोदामों को तोड़ेगी.
