Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the second Khelo India Winter Games in Gulmarg and said that the event is a step towards making Jammu and Kashmir a hub of winter sports. Athletes from 27 states and Union Territories are competing in the Games which will conclude on March 2.

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने शुक्रवार को कश्मीर के गुलमर्ग में खेलो इंडिया विंटर गेम्स का वर्चुअल मोड से उद्घाटन किया। इसमें देश भर के विभिन्न राज्यों से 1200 से अधिक खिलाड़ी भाग ले रहे हैं। प्रधानमंत्री ने उद्घाटन के बाद खिलाड़ियों का उत्साह बढ़ाते हुए कहा कि खेलों इंडिया के तहत हर जिले में एक सेंटर विकसित किया जाएगा। यही नहीं खेलों में उच्च शिक्षा के संस्थान और खेल विश्वविद्यालय की स्थापना भी की जाएगी। उन्होंने इन खेलों में भाग लेने वाले सभी खिलाड़ियों को आत्मनिर्भर भारत का ब्रांड अम्बेस्डर करार दिया।
