There are multiple developments taking place at the foreign policy and national security front. At the United Nations (UN), India made it very clear that to carry out a preemptive strike to protect national interest is India's right. In a big development, the Defence Ministry said on Thursday that India and Pakistan armies have agreed to cease firing along the Line of Control (LoC) from midnight of February 24-25. The Director Generals of Military Operations of the two countries agreed to observe ceasefire “in the interest of achieving mutually beneficial and sustainable peace along the borders."
