BJP's Giriraj Singh on Thursday stoked controversy after he compared West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee to Kim Jong-Un. The controversial statement comes after BJP and TMC workers clashed during the poriborton yatra in the poll-bound state. Trashing Mamata Banerjee's claim that she was fighting for "Bengali pride", Prime Minister Narendra Modi Monday had earlier accused her of neglecting the state's culture, its icons and women, and promoting "cut money culture" to the state's detriment.
