Iran fired ballistic missiles at US air bases in Iraq as a retaliation for the killing of Quds Force Chief General Qasem Soleimani. The Al-Anbar airbase housing coalition troops was hit with the most number of strikes. There is no word of casualty yet but reports from Iran say atleast 80 US troop members were killed. This figure has not been confirmed or verified. Iran’s Foreign Minister Jawad Zarif called the strike a proportional response in self-defence under Article 51 of UN charter. He also said that Iran does not seek war but will defend against aggression.
