Covid cases surge in Maharashtra, over 700 cases reported in Mumbai

Maharashtra recorded a steady rise in coronavirus cases this week. On Wednesday, the state reported 4,78 cases, the highest in 70 days. Mumbai, too, recorded more than 700 cases (721), its highest in 42 days on Wednesday. Maharashtra's Pune district on Wednesday recorded 857 new cases of COVID-19, the highest daily count in the last few days, taking the overall infection figure to 3,94,726, an official said. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has warned that if COVID-19 protocols are not followed, people should be prepared for a strict lockdown. For more, watch the full video.
