My Name Is Khan Will Be Cherished Forever, Says Karan Johar

Filmmaker Karan Johar took to Instagram and marked the 11th year of the massive hit, 'My Name Is Khan', starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in the leading roles.

Released in 2010, My Name Is Khan is directed by Karan Johar, written by Shibani Bathija and Niranjan Iyengar, produced by Hiroo Yash Johar and Gauri Khan.

Set in India and the United States, the film centers upon Rizwan Khan, an autistic Muslim man married to a woman, Mandira, who has a child, Sameer, from her previous relationship. Sameer is killed on the nature of prejudice following the September 11 attacks, and Mandira blames Rizwan, telling him not to come back until he can convince the President of the United States that he is not a terrorist. Rizwan takes Mandira's words literally and tries to meet the President so as to win her back.

Karan Johar shared a teaser from the film and wrote,

“All we have is our stories and this one will be cherished forever. Thank you bhai for being the soul of this film. Kajol for being an unbreakable rock to Rizwan and us. To Shibani for writing a story that is still relevant in today's world... And to the entire team that embarked on this challenging journey together. I will always be grateful to each and every one of you..."

Meanwhile, on the work front, KJo is set to bring several exciting projects. The filmmaker will be backing some upcoming big-ticket projects such as Akshay Kumar-starrer 'Sooryavanshi' and Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor's much-awaited film 'Brahmastra'.

Other films such as 'Shershaah', 'Dostana 2', 'Jug Jugg Jeeyo' and Shakun Batra's next, will also be released under Karan's Dharma Productions. He also has 'Takht' and 'Liger' in the pipeline.
