India faced a comprehensive 227-run defeat against England in the first of the four-match Test series at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The loss has tremendously hurt India's chances of making it to the final of the ICC World Test Championship as they have now plunged to the fourth spot in the standings.
