A father and son are two sides of the same coin.
Ibrahim Hassan Kaskar, father of Dawood, was a head constable with the Mumbai Police. Though he was nowhere close to being a ruthless criminal like his son, Dawood did pick up a few shades of his father’s persona.
At a young age, Dawood learnt that his father did not bow down to power but he rather made power work for his own benefit. In this video, renowned author and investigative journalist, S. Hussain Zaidi demonstrates this aptly by recollecting an incident involving Ibrahim Kaskar and ex-CM of Maharashtra, A. R. Antulay.
And after Dawood latched on to this early lesson, S. Hussain Zaidi also reveals the incident through which Dawood began using social and political power structures to his own benefit and established one of the largest criminal syndicates in the world.
