В жизни учительницы музыкальной школы Кати Смолиной случается непоправимое – в автомобильной аварии погибает ее муж, Андрей. Лучшая подруга, которая находилась с ним в одной машине, в тяжелом состоянии попадает в реанимацию. Катя забирает дочку Инны, семилетнюю Машу, в свой дом. Сама Катя не может иметь детей и тем тяжелее она переживает гибель мужа – у нее ничего не осталось от их любви. Кроме того, свекровь осыпает ее постоянными упреками и обвиняет Катю в смерти Андрея – ведь именно она уговорила мужа отвезти подругу в оздоровительный лагерь к заболевшей Маше.
А вскоре Катя узнает, что ее муж и лучшая подруга были любовниками…

In the life of a music school teacher Katya Smolina, the irreparable happens - her husband, Andrei, dies in a car accident. The best friend, who was in the same car with him, goes to intensive care in serious condition. Katya takes Inna's daughter, seven-year-old Masha, to her house. Katya herself cannot have children, and the harder she experiences the death of her husband - she has nothing left of their love. In addition, the mother-in-law showered her with constant reproaches and accused Katya of Andrei's death - after all, it was she who persuaded her husband to take her friend to a health camp to the sick Masha.
And soon Katya finds out that her husband and best friend were lovers ...
