Marcus Smart suffered a calf strain, as the Celtics initially diagnosed, following a scary fall in the second half in the Celtics vs Lakers prime time special. Smart left the court unable to put weight on his left leg, and replay later showed a burst in his calf muscle as he stretched his left foot back. It raised scary thoughts of past calf explosions being an early sign of a torn achilles, which would end Smart's season. The Celtics await an MRI on Smart's leg as they prepare to travel west for a five game road trip already down Payton Pritchard at the guard spot with Kemba Walker slowly returning from his injury. The Garden Report discussed the possible outcomes after the Lakers beat the Celtics 96-95.
