Newly-planted mangrove trees destroyed near Sungai Segari in Perak

Villagers in Segari, Perak are shocked after discovering a site being cleared for prawn farming in Manjung.

A villager said he noticed heavy machinery carrying out clearing work at the site near Sungai Segari on Tuesday.

He said they just planted about 7,000 mangrove trees about two weeks ago and came back to monitor the trees and saw a large excavator entering the area and destroying everything that was planted.
