As climate change continues to affect winemaking, the Bordeaux wines we've come to know and love may be different.But the region is actively preparing for its survival.In 2019, regulators proposed adding seven new grapes to the varieties allowed in bottles of Bordeaux.All of the new grapes were chosen for their potential to flourish in the conditions caused by global warming.Despite upending generations of tradition, French regulators officially approved six of those new varieties.But the new grapes are just one of many ways the region is shifting to adapt to modern weather patterns.Winemakers are looking to change 'the way they prune, harvest, and shape their vines in order to remain viable.Your favorite Bordeaux might taste a little different in the future, but at least it will be on the shelf
