The Amityville Horror
In the 1970s, nothing captured the imagination and horror of a haunting in the United States quite like the report of the Lutzes 28 day stay in their new home. Though they thought that the house’s history made no difference at first, it was clear they didn’t leave thinking that way. The murders that occurred in the house 13 months prior left more than a stain on the building. And perhaps the history of that “stain” were deeper than they thought. And even worse still, many years later, after George Lutz died, several of the family members stepped forward to explain that the reason for the hauntings intensity was to be blamed on the father himself.
