Après une semaine de mer et 6 000 milles déjà parcourus sur leur tentative de record du Trophée Jules Verne, l’équipage du Maxi Edmond de Rothschild débute sa plongée vers le Grand Sud avec près de 500 milles d’avance sur le record actuel. Et c’est à très hautes vitesses que le maxi-trimaran volant aux cinq flèches devrait rejoindre la latitude du premier grand cap de son tour du monde. Les six marins profitent encore de conditions clémentes sur le pont, mais dans les prochaines heures, l’ambiance va changer, les températures chuter et polaires et bonnets feront leur grand retour.
