Ready to make amendments but farmer unions rigid on demand to revoke laws: Tomar
  • 3 years ago
Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on the ongoing farmers’ protest and farm laws said that the government is open for discussion and ready to make amendments but the farmer union is very rigid. Tomar said, “We have requested the farmer union to discuss the clauses of farm laws. And wherever they have issues or objections, we were ready to make amendments. We had sent a proposal to farmer unions in which we agreed to address their apprehensions regarding mandis, traders' registration and others. The government also agreed to discuss laws on stubble burning and electricity but unions only want a repeal of the laws.”
