Unprecedented violence against journalists in Uganda as election approaches : Human Rights Network

The coordinator of the Human Rights Network for Journalists in Uganda says they have registered over 100 attacks against journalists since the nomination of candidates for the January 14th elections. He adds that the scale and often violent nature of the attacks is something that 'has never happened during an election in Uganda,' and comments on the difficulties journalists have faced in getting accreditation to cover the vote.
