Dense fog engulfs Delhi; minimum temperature likely to drop to 3 degrees

A thick layer of fog engulfed parts of the national capital on December 31. Normal life hit out of gear due to intense cold. People were seen sitting near a bonfire to warm themselves. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature is expected to remain at 3 degrees Celsius. Parts of northern India are reeling under severe cold.
