BOSTON -- Jaylen Brown poured in a career high 42 points as the Celtics stomped the Memphis Grizzlies 126-107 at TD Garden. He shied away from notions that this is a huge leap for his game, saying that he's known he's a great shooter since college.

He didn't realize he had reached his career high until he subbed out midway through the third quarter, winked toward Brad Stevens when teammates told him, and stole a few more minutes to stretch his scoring past his last career high of 34 from last December.

"It's been great. Definitely trying to accept the challenge. I'm excited about this year in general. We have a great group ... we're all embracing that challenge. Personally to be in a new and different role, with a lot of responsibility, I love, I want to handle that ... make sure I get other guys involved and make sure I be the best leader I can be."
