Vaccine Passports May Be Required for Travel Next Year.
With the COVID-19 vaccine beginning to roll out
around the world, many companies have started
developing apps to easily provide digital credentials.
Geneva-based nonprofit The Commons
Project created the CommonPass app
that allows users to upload medical
data such as proof of vaccination.
The group has already partnered
with several major airlines and
hundreds of health systems in the U.S.
The app will also list specific health
requirements based on an individual’s
place of departure and arrival.
Other companies such as IBM
have also developed apps, which
will be widely available within
the first half of 2021
