Coronavirus: Why is Ontario going into lockdown after Christmas and not before?

With fears hospitals could be overwhelmed due to expected surge in COVID-19 cases, Ontario is heading into a province-wide lockdown on Dec. 26.

Experts and doctors are criticizing the Ford's government decision not to impose the lockdown before Christmas, with the province reporting nearly 2,500 cases Thursday.

They fear the Christmas gatherings will cause a tsunami of cases in January.
