New record high COVID-19 tally in S. Korea

South Korea reported 1-thousand-2-hundred-41 new COVID-19 cases on Friday.
The figure is a new record high for the country.
The total now adds up to 54-thousand, 7-hundred-70.
The nation's Prime Minister made the announcement on Friday.
During a government pandemic response meeting, Chung Sye-kyun... mentioned there was a large outbreak at a detention center in Seoul the previous day.
He emphasized the importance of adhering to restrictions through the holiday season, and requested a strong response to violations.
According to the KDCA, there were 17 additional coronavirus deaths, spiking the toll to 7-hundred-73.
6-hundred-23 more patients have been released from coronavirus treatment, that total now stands at 38-thousand and 48.
