UK and EU kick off final push to strike post-Brexit trade deal before year-end deadline

In just about a week's time, Britian will complete its departure from the EU.
And hopes are rising that the much-delayed post-Brexit trade talks could see a breakthrough before the deadline.

Kyung-eun, what's the latest?
Mok-yeon, UK trade negotiator David Frost arrived in Brussels on Wednesday,... as the UK and EU continue their last-minute efforts to strike a trade deal.
They are giving a final push to settle the issue over EU fishing quotas in British waters,... which has been a major obstacle in the negotiations.
The BBC is cautiously raising hopes of a deal.
It reported that it is "very likely",.... the two sides were "heading towards" an agreement.
But it added,.. that nothing is signed,...with "haggling" still going on.
Along with fisheries, fair competition rules remain the key hurdles to reaching a deal.
The two sides have until the end of the month to reach a breakthrough.
If it does not happen by then,... they will bring back taxes, which could potentially disrupt market prices.
