Effective midnight tonight gatherings larger than four are banned over the Christmas and New Year holidays in Seoul and the surrounding areas.

As COVID-19 cases are sprouting up in the greater Seoul area,... local governments have decided to act.
"Even though the measure to ban gatherings of five or more people is uncomfortable,... please understand this situation is for our safety. Cancel all meetings to stop the virus."
So, what measures are they putting in place?
From December 23rd to January 3rd, the capital region will ban gatherings of five or more people.
They can't hold personal gatherings either indoors or outdoors.
But families that are registered at the same address can still dine at restaurants together.
The measures apply to people living in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do Province and Incheon.
And if you are living in that area,... you can't still hold a meeting in other provinces.
What types of meetings are banned... exactly?
Any kind of reunion, social meeting or picnic is banned.
Company get-togethers like dinners or workshops are also prohibited.
And, celebrations like birthday parties, or activities like hiking trips are also not allowed.
So,... are there any exceptions to these measures?
People can still work at their office as normal.
Scheduled tests and university entrance exams can also still go ahead, so long as there are fewer than 50 test takers.
Funerals and weddings are still allowed but must have fewer than 50 visitors.
Funerals in Seoul are limited to 30 visitors.
Participants can be fined a maximum of 2,700 U.S. dollars, and facility owners can also be fined the same amount and have their business shut down if they allow gatherings to take place.
And, if someone from the gathering tests positive for COVID-19, those related to the meeting will have to pay for the treatment.
