Nestlé Recalls Nearly 100,000 Pounds of , Lean Cuisine Meals.
On Saturday, the United States Department
of Agriculture (USDA) announced that Nestlé
had issued a nationwide recall.
The recall is specifically for nearly 100,000 pounds
of Lean Cuisine Baked Chicken meals. .
They all have the lot code 0246595911 and
a "Best Before" date of October 2021. .
According to the USDA’s Food Safety
and Inspection Service (FSIS), “foreign matter” contaminants
have been found in some packages. .
They’ve reportedly received five
complaints from people who found
hard white plastic shards in their food. .
Nestlé believes that the pieces in the
mashed potatoes are from “a plastic conveyor
belt that broke during production.”.
The USDA assured in their
announcement that nobody has been
injured because of the “foreign matter.”
