The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine on Friday for emergency use, making it the second vaccine to be approved in the country. Earlier Friday, Vice-President Mike Pence became one of the top U.S. officials to get the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, doing so live on television, in an effort to provide more assurances to the safety of the vaccine.
