ADVISOR TO CM SINDH MURTAZA WAHAB VISITS SSU HEADQUARTERS
Karachi – Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh on Law and Spokesperson Sindh Government Barrister Murtaza Wahab visited the Special Security Unit Headquarters today, he was welcomed by DIG Security and Emergency Services Division Maqsood Ahmed. He was presented a guard honor by a contingent of SSU.
The Advisor alongwith DIG Security and Emergency Services Division and Commandant SSU visited armory, firing range and different sections of SSU and appreciated the professional administration and management of the SSU.
DIG Maqsood Ahmed briefed about the different sections of Special Security Unit and informed about the establishment of Special Weapons and Tactics Team (S.W.A.T), first ever in the country, comprises highly trained commandos and lady commandos equipped with modern tactical weapons. The Pakistan Army is also providing training to further enhance the professional techniques of commandos including lady commandos at its different training institutes, he said.
The DIG Security and Emergency Services Division further said that the Madadgar 15 is an important sub-unit of Sindh Police which is being restored and set up as per the need of an hour. Having increased the man power and changes on administrative level, the response time of the Madadgar has been reduced to 07-10 from 30-40 minutes in any emergency situation.
Murtaza Wahab lauded the SSU's high professional standards in administrative, security and counter-terrorism functions and endeavours to further enhance its capabilities. He added that Former President Asif Ali Zardari had set up Special Security Unit in view of the country's situation whose professionalism is exemplary.
The Advisor said that the Government of Sindh appreciates the efforts of the Security Division in bringing Madadgar-15 as per modern needs and will have the full support of the Government in implementing it.
Murtaza Wahab also appreciated Madadgar-15’s timely response when he dialled a test call at Madadgar-15.
The advisor also witnessed the drill conducted by the commandos of Special Weapons and Tactics Team (S.W.AT) to deal with any hostile situation.
