Chinese martial art Tai Chi is added to Unesco’s intangible cultural heritage list

The traditional Chinese martial art Taijiquan, more commonly known as Tai Chi, has been added to the representative list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by Unesco. The UN's heritage body announced the decision during an online meeting of the Unesco Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. The gathering was hosted from Kingston, the capital of Jamaica, on December 17, 2020.
