Ben & Jerry’s Teams with Colin Kaepernick on New Non-Dairy Flavor
  • 3 years ago
Launched back in the 1970s, Ben & Jerry's was ahead of the curve in the premium ice cream craze. But part of what has set the brand apart is their continued dedication to political activism.Colin Kaepernick was also a trendsetter as the first NFL player to protest inequality by not standing for the national anthem. The two make for a sensible match, and it has finally happened: Colin Kaepernick is getting his own Ben & Jerry's flavor.Change the Whirled was created to celebrate his "courageous work to confront systemic oppression.".As a vegan, Kaepernick wanted his flavor to be a non-dairy offering. And the result is a sunflower butter base packed with fudge chips, graham cracker swirls, and chocolate cookie swirls.Pints cost around $5, and Kaepernick's portion of the profits will support the Know Your Rights Camp charity
