Eleven-year-old harmonica master from Hong Kong insists his instrument is no ‘toy’

Timothy Tang King-yip walks on stage as an 11-year-old boy, but the moment his lips touch his harmonica to play Invierno Porteno by Astor Piazolla, he is transformed by skills well beyond his years. Tang won his first competition at the age of five after studying the instrument for only three months. Since then, he has travelled to nine countries for various competitions, and has been invited to play at Carnegie Hall in New York for the 5th Manhattan International Music Competition in 2021.
