Goose Island Released Three 'Secret' Versions of Bourbon County Stout This Year

Goose Island Beer Company essentially created the barrel-aged stout style. And for 2020, Goose Island tested another innovation—what they're calling an "Easter egg.".A limited number of Bourbon County Stouts were made in barrels from a specific distillery. And these single-origin beers can only be recognized by a two-letter code subtly included on the label. If the date code of your beer ends with either "BT," "HH," or "WT," your beer was aged in barrels from one distillery. The codes tell you whether the beer was aged in barrels from Buffalo Trace, Heaven Hill, or Wild Turkey distilleries.Bottles without any of those two letter codes are simply the regular blend. If this Easter egg proves popular, maybe next year they'll bring it to the masses
