इन दिनों विश्व क्रिकेट में वीरेंद्र सहवाग और ग्लेन मैक्सवेल के बीच जुबानी जंग शुरू है. हालंकि, मैक्सवेल इस बात को ज्यादा तूल नहीं दे रहे हैं. सहवाग ऑस्ट्रेलिया के बल्लेबाज मैक्सवेल से काफी खफा हैं. और उनका कहना है कि मैक्सवेल सिर्फ ऑस्ट्रेलिया के लिए बढ़िया खेलते हैं. आईपीएल में तो बस मजे लेने के लिए आते हैं. इसके पीछे की वजह ये है कि ग्लेन मैक्सवेल इन दिनों भारत के खिलाफ खूब रन बना रहे हैं. धुआंधार पारी खेल रहे हैं और भारतीय गेंदबाजों की जमकर पिटाई कर रहे हैं. लेकिन, आईपीएल में इस बार उनका बल्ला खूब खामोश रहा था. मैक्सवेल पूरे आईपीएल में एक छक्का भी नहीं लगा पाए थे. आइपीएल में खराब प्रदर्शन की वजह से ग्लेन मैक्सवेल को लेकर सहवाग ने वह आइपीएल के दौरान क्रिकेट से ज्यादा गोल्फ के बारे में अधिक गंभीर हैं.

Former India batsman Virender Sehwag has taken a fresh jibe at Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell following his half-century against India after the third T20I on Wednesday. Sehwag said the reason Maxwell performs well for Australia and doesn’t in IPL with as much consistency because the batsman knows his place in the Australian limited-overs team is not for granted, while the same cannot be said about his IPL franchise Kings XI Punjab. Maxwell had a lean IPL 2020, that saw him score 108 runs from 13 matches, statistically his worst IPL season of all time, but followed it with a glittering three-match ODI series against India where he scored 167 runs.
