A group of Indian Army veterans has taken an initiative, named ‘Atulya Ganga’, to create a remarkable history in adventure with a noble purpose of rejuvenating our holy Ganges to its pristine glory, with a slogan ‘Stop dumping waste in Ganga’.
Atulya Ganga team is planning to do ‘Mundaman Ganga Parikrama’, circumnavigation of the river. In this Parikrama, one walks along the bank of the river starting from Gomukh to Gangasagar where the river merges into the sea, goes to the other side of the Ganges and treks back to Gomukh.

गंगा को साफ और अविरल करने के लिए सरकार नमामि गंगे प्रोजेक्ट चला रही है. गंगा को साफ करना सिर्फ सरकार की जिम्मेदारी नहीं है बल्कि इस जीवनदायनी नदी के सहेजना हर नागरिक का कर्तव्य है. और ये व्यापक जनभागीदारी से ही संभव है. इसी को देखते हुए गंगा की सफाई और उसके प्रति जनजागरुकता का बीड़ा उठाया है सेना के कुछ रिटायर्ड अधिकारियों ने. अतुल्य गंगा मिशन के तहत पूर्व लेफ्टिनेंट कर्नल हेम लोहुमी, गोपाल शर्मा और कर्नल मनोज केश्वर ऐतिहासिक पदयात्रा शुरू करने वाले हैं. ये यात्रा 15 दिसंबर से शुरू होकर 10 अगस्त 2021 तक चलेगा.
