Batting first did bring a change in fortune for Virat Kohli and his side as India defeated Australia by 13 runs in the third and final ODI of the three-match series at the Manuka Oval on Wednesday (December 2). While India opened their account in the ODI Super League with the win, Australia took the series 2-1. Luck was India's side to begin with as Kohli won the toss for the first time in the series and decided to bat. While the top-order failed to fire in unison, the middle-order rose to the challenge and both Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja played match-winning knocks of 92 and 66 respectively to guide India to 302/5.

आख़िरकार भारत को जीत मिल ही गयी. टीम इंडिया ने रोमांचक मुकाबले में ऑस्ट्रेलिया को हरा दिया. 13 रनों से टीम इंडिया ने धमाकेदार जीत हासिल की. और इस जीत के हीरो हार्दिक पांड्या रहे. जिन्होंने नाबाद 92 रनों की पारी खेली. वहीँ, रविन्द्र जडेजा ने 66 रन बनाए. भारत ने पहले बल्लेबाजी करते हुए ऑस्ट्रेलिया को जीत के लिए 303 रनों का टार्गेट दिया था. पर मेजबान टीम सभी विकेट खोकर 289 रन ही बना सकी. और भारत ने 13 रनों से मुकाबला जीत लिया. इससे पहले टॉस जीतकर कप्तान विराट कोहली ने बैटिंग करने का फैसला किया था. शिखर धवन 27 गेंदों में 16 रन बनाकर सीन एबॉट का शिकार बने. अच्छी बल्लेबाजी कर शुभमन 33 रन बनाकर LBW हुए.
